Ilkeston Hope Church
Our church began as a house meeting in the 1960’s and then following a crusade by Pastor Ron Jones, an Elim evangelist, we moved into a Wesleyan chapel on South Street, Ilkeston. This building was previously used by the Baptist Church who moved to a new building on Queen Street.
Following concerns about the safety of the building we began meeting in a community hall, then in 1987/88 our Pastor decided to move from the town centre out onto the Cotmanhay estate.
Initially we entered into a joint sharing agreement with the local Methodist Church. When the Methodist Church closed, we rented rooms from Bennerley Fields special school.

In 1993 we bought our present home on Charlotte St: a three-storey clothing factory. Following gifts and finance from the Elim head office we renovated the entire factory in a year. We have been meeting here ever since.

In 2024 we felt that a new name would reflect our changing focus, so we changed our name to Ilkeston Hope Church.
